Experiences programs
Meadowvale Farm is excited to launch our new 'Experiences' program. The foundation of the program is based in Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) which involves group activities interacting with our horses to improve life skills.
What is Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)?
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) involves interactions between humans and horses to facilitate personal growth and learning. It's an experiential form of learning where individuals engage in activities with horses, leading to insights and changes in their behavior or thinking patterns. The process is grounded in the understanding that horses possess an innate ability to reflect human emotions and behaviors, providing immediate feedback and fostering self-awareness in participants.
Our vision is to improve lives through a meaningful interactive experience with our wonderful horses.
Fall 2024 Programs:
1) Personal development program: A 3-9 week program for youth and adults to improve stress management, communication and confidence.
2) Youth EAL program: Ages 8-15 to develop improved confidence, focus, calm anxiety, and develop relationships.
3) Group experiences: A fun, teambuilding activity for friends, work groups, birthday groups and more.
Personal Development EAL
Our programs are taught by a certified EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) instructor to provide positive experiences with our equines. During the sessions small groups will communicate, collaborate, and problem solve to complete the interactive exercises with the assigned horses.
3 - 9 week program available: Saturday afternoons at 5:15 from Oct - December 2024
Topics: Stress management ~ Communication and leadership ~ Confidence and Self awareness
Stress management (Oct 5th, 12th and 19th)
Horses and humans have had a long standing relationship throughout history. Spending time interacting with horses is an excellent mechanism to refocus and release external stress. You will be mentally present and fully immerse yourself to be successful at the games. After our sessions you can expect to feel happier, more relaxed and have a more positive outlook.
Communication and leadership (Oct 26, Nov 2, and Nov 16) (No class Nov 9)
Participants will need to use verbal and non-verbal communication to lead the horses and communicate with team members through a variety of exercises. Horses respond to calm assertive leadership and participants will become more self aware and strategic through the sessions. An increase in confidence and effective communication will be built through progressive challenges.
Confidence & Self awareness and regulation (Nov 23, 30, and Dec 7)
Horses respond to body language, energy and tone. Participants will become more aware of their own energetic state and body language expressions as they navigate the exercises with their equine. Attentiveness, self regulation and problem solving skills are developed through solving problems and games. These sessions are beneficial for everyone but participants with ADHD, anxiety or self regulation challenges will see improvements.
Fall 2024 Program:
9 Week program: Saturdays at 5:15pm from October 5 - December 7 2024 (see exact dates above)
Ages 10 and up - participants will be grouped with others of similar age unless otherwise requested.
Cost: $140 per 3 week session of 1 topic or $300 for all 9 weeks (HST applicable)
Youth Program (ages 8-15)
Cost: $180 / month or $280 / 2 months
Group Experiences
Are you looking for something fun to build teamwork, communication and trust? For couples, families, friends and work groups we are offering fun interactive games with horses!
You will be in small teams to participate in unmounted activities with our beautiful horses. No riding equipment or experience needed!
Saturday evenings from September through December 2024 times available from 6:30 pm
